Welcome to Uncharted Parenting!
This blog is all about our adventures as a family, from our backyard to Disney to Legoland to anywhere else in the world we might visit. Mini-vacations are our favorite, quick weekend getaways or short road trips, though as our boys grow and change our travel is bound to change with them.
If this is your first time here, you may have some questions, so let’s get to the answers…
Who are we?
We are a multi-cultural family living in central Florida, just a short drive from all the activities any young family might want. (Though we’re not what I call “young”, having our first son in our mid-30’s.)
We’re members of DVC (Disney Vacation Club) since 2017.
We’re Walt Disney World Annual Passholders.
We’re fans of Disney Cruise Line, having gone on more cruises than we should admit.
We’re also regular visitors to other non-Disney attractions around our area, including Legoland Florida and Lowry Park Zoo, not to mention any park or playground with a splash zone on a hot day!
And in case that’s not enough, we’re also an EV family, driving a Tesla Model X since 2017 and loving every minute!
Why this blog?
It started as an idea for a webcomic, back when we only had one boy and wanted to share the hilarity of being new parents in our 30’s. We registered the domain name, created one comic, then forgot about it while we focused on getting through life one day at a time.
Two years later the comic became a blog and we started sharing our adventures, beginning with photos and stories and eventually adding video from our travels. Part family photo album, part vacation journal, this blog is about watching our boys grow up and sharing our stories, some good and some not so good.
What will I find here?
Unless you’re one of our friends or family who’s just here to see the boys, you’ll need something worth reading!
Maybe you’re seen signs for Disney Vacation Club and you’re curious how it all works? Or you just want a closer look at some of the resorts and different types of rooms?
Perhaps you’re wondering what it’s like to take a road trip with an electric car?
You might even be wondering what family life is like as you plan your own journey, and that’s ok, too! A lot of my fears about becoming a parent were soothed by following the stories of others, and while this blog is focused on travel, bits of everyday life are sprinkled along the way.
Thanks for reading!
Finally, I just want to say thanks for visiting and reading our stories! We’re creative people at heart, love photography and video editing and always want to create and share something with the world. Thank you for taking the time to check us out, and if there’s anything you want to see more of, drop us a line!
